| The University of Colorado Black Law Student Association (BLSA) Chapter is a non-profit campus organization that is affiliated with the
National Black Law Students Association and the Rocky Mountain Regional BLSA Chapter. The primary function of BLSA is to facilitate and strengthen the African American student's experience in the academic and cultural environment.
The most important goal of BLSA is to see that every African American student that enters the University of Colorado, School of Law stays and completes the program successfully. The purpose of the Black Law Students Association is to utilize the collective resources of its members to:
- Articulate and promote the professional needs and goals of Black Law Students.
- Aid in the recruitment, retention, and placement of Black Law Students.
- Instill in University of Colorado law students a greater awareness of
committment to
the needs of the Black community both nationally and internationally.
- Influence the legal community to bring about meaningful change by meeting the needs of the Black community.
- Foster communication among other Black Law Students.
- Foster an atmosphere of community and to facilitate unity and support among law students.
