ENGLISH RECAP 2010-2011:
The English side of the CU Equestrian Team had their best season-to-date in the 2010-2011 season. Over the fall and spring semesters the English team received high point team at 7 of the 9 shows, and reserve high point team the other two. At the end of the season we finished with a totally of 279 points, 20 points higher than the University of Wyoming, who came in second in the region. All of our riders had exceptional seasons. We had nine of our girls qualify individually for Regionals which was held by the CU team at Fall River Farm: Andrea Fieger, Anna Bohlin, Sarah Vicksman, Jennifer Burke, Jenica Northrup, Karly Hobbs, Kaley Silipo, Courtney Lennon, and Kelly Meyer. Of these 9 girls 5 qualified for Zones held at CAL Poly in Pamona, CA. CU sent a full team of girls (Open to Walk-Trot) to represent us as a school in California, these girls were Jennifer Burke, Whitney Wickes, Bonnie Pav, Hannah Clark and Arab Ginnett. All the girls in California rode extremely well, and CU took second place behind Stanford University. Along with the team, two girls joined the list to go to Nationals, Karly Hobbs, winning Novice over fences and Jenica Northrup winning Intermediate Flat, along with Jen Burke to compete for the Cacchione Cup. This was the first year in our team’s history to send a full English team to Nationals, which was held in Kentucky at the Kentucky Horse Park. Competition was very tough but all our girls rode valiant rides and we tied for 11th place.

WESTERN RECAP 2010-2011:
The western team had an exciting season this year! The fall started off great with 15 new members joining the team, we were able to fill all classes (Open to Walk-Trot). This season we had 5 blue ribbon winners: Stephanie Echer, Hana Fancher, Caroline Likas, Brittany Lloyd, and Kelly Meyer. At the Laramie County Community College show on November 6th we proudly took Reserve High Point Team, and again we earned Reserve High Point at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture show on February 12th. Overall we finished the season and ended the season with 140 points! We had one rider, Hana Fancher, participate in Regionals’ and hope to have more next season. We look forward to the 2011-2012 show season and hopefully some new members to add to our amazing team! Good job everyone!
