PENALTIES
1)
Member shortages result in a 5-point deduction per member. (EXH, IDR; not CG or
1MEM and 2MEM)
2)
Gender discrepancies for Men’s and Women’s teams result in a 5-point deduction
per member. (EXH, IDR; not CG or1MEM and 2MEM)
3)
Failure to report in results in a 5-point deduction.
4)
Each boundary violation results in a 5-point penalty, with a maximum of 15
deducted points. If any member or
possession of a member (rifle, cap, etc.) touches or passes the boundary, there
is a boundary violation. (EXH, IDR, 1MEM and 2MEM; not CG)
5)
Each verbal command error results in a 5-point penalty, with a max of 15
deducted points. Commands may not be
omitted. They must be given exactly as
prescribed. For the CG uncasing
procedure, command penalties will not be assessed. (IDR, CG; not EXH or 1MEM and 2MEM)

Each second after the double whistle, in which a member, or possession of a
member, remain inside the boundaries will result in a 1-point deduction per
second – up to 30 points. Should a team
member, or article, remain inside the boundaries for more than 30 seconds after
the double whistle, automatic disqualification will result for that event. Refusal to evacuate the drill floor upon
order may result in disqualification from the entire meet.

Failure to Report Out - Failure to report out will result in a 5-point
deduction. Any reporting statement that
is not completed before the double whistle, will not count and the 5-point
deduction will be enforced. (EXH, CG,
IDR; not 1MEM and 2MEM)

Miscellaneous Rules – Violation
of any of the rules set forth may result in disqualification from a single
performance or disqualification from the entire drill meet. This is not an all-inclusive list. Any unfair or dangerous actions taken by an
individual may result in a penalty. The
DMC will determine penalties arising from violation of these rules. Depending on the nature and severity of the
violation, penalties may range anywhere from a warning to a point deduction to
partial or complete disqualification.
Only performing cadets are allowed in the
drill floor. An instructor may observe
his/her team’s performance from the on-deck area. At no time may an instructor or non-performing
cadet enter the drill floor, the judge’s area between drill floors, nor address
any judge. Instructors and
non-performing cadets may not prompt or instruct their teams during their
performance.
Use of fixed bayonet, blanks, pyrotechnics,
music or other artificial means of counting cadence is prohibited.
Spectators may not interfere with another
team’s performance in any manner.
Cadet usage of drugs or alcohol the day of
the meet may result in total disqualification.
Smoking is prohibited inside the field house
or within 50 feet of the field house.
Fighting or the use of severe profanity or
taunting may result in total disqualification.
Crossing of the Red Line, except at the
marked gates, is prohibited and may result in a 10-point deduction for the
entire school.
All issues concerning judging or rules must
be addressed with the DMC. Any
disqualifications will be made only after the DMC has met with the instructors
of the concerned school. The DMC has
final authority and will make the final decision concerning any rule disputes
or disqualifications.
