Men’s and Women’s Drill Teams

In the past, Men’s and Women’s teams were allowed to substitute one member for a member of the opposite sex. This will no longer be allowed. Mixed competition is often more competitive than all-male or all-female competition. To ensure that no team has an unfair advantage, mixed gender teams cannot compete against single-gendered teams within their respective categories. Men’s teams must be composed of strictly males and, likewise, Women’s teams must be composed of strictly females.

The use of a male on a women’s team or vice versa will result in a 5-point penalty per member of the opposite gender. If a team must replace a male on a men’s team with a female, or vice versa, that team may switch into the mixed category without penalty.
