| The Figure Skating Club sponsors an informal exhibition
in October and another in December in which all club members have the opportunity
to prepare and perform a program. In the spring, the club produces the
spring ice show, which is our major fund raising activity and requires
the help of all members to produce. In exchange, members who do help are
eligible to have the club pay for their competition registration fees.
We hold meetings twice a month throughout the
school year (second and fourth monday of each month). Each April, we elect
a President, Vice President/Test Chair and
Secretary/Treasurer for the school year. We will also need
coordinators for the ice show in the following
areas: music, costumes, set, program, bake sale and registration.

Each April, the CU Figure Skating Club produces the Spring
Ice Show. This is a two or three performance show with over 125 skaters
including a guest skater, learn to skate students, morning freestyle skaters
and club members. Preparation starts in the fall, when we select
the theme and music and start designing costumes and props. All skaters
who wish to participate in the show must pay a registration fee during
the registration period in February. Club members, who volunteer
their time to run various parts of the show, are exempt from this fee.
In the fall, the club selects a producer for the show as well as coordinators
for music, costumes and the set. We will also need coordinators for
the program, tickets and flyers, the bake sale, registration, volunteers
and publicity in the Spring. The show is a huge production and is
a lot of fun to help organize. If you are interested in participating
in the show or helping out, please come to the club meetings in the fall.

The following is an incomplete list of competitions in
the front range and their approximate dates. Check the bulletin board for
registration materials (usually about two months before the competition).
To get reimbursed, you must submit travel papers to Kris Schoech (303-492-5133, in the office near the entrance to the women's locker room in the Recreation Center) at least one week before the competition. Travel papers will be considered incomplete unless they include:
a copy of the page of the registration pack that details all of the prices, if the prices for the events are not on the registration form. |

| Because skating is such an individualistic sport, we
do not have uniforms. We do, however, usually purchase club jackets in
the fall. Jackets are black nylon with full zippers down the front, zipped
pockets, a stylish collar and cotton lining. They have the CU figure skating
club logo on the front left, "Colorado Figure Skating" on the back, and
you can have your name monogrammed on the right front.
Jackets will be $35 and orders are due by October 24th. Order forms are available on the figure skating bulletin board next to the skate shop. Leggings with the CU figure skating club logo embroidered on the hip are also available for $26. |

| The club's email list is a good way to keep in touch
with what's going on. Meetings, announcements and important dates are announced
to the list. It is also a good way to communicate with other members of
the club. You must be subscribed to the list to mail to it.
To subscribe, send an email message from your main email
account to lists@listproc.colorado.edu
