Together everyone achieves more

Our fencing club here at CU has a few simple goals: have fun, make friends, and provide a great environment to learn about and train for the art of fencing! If that sounds good, go ahead and check out our page on joining us. If you still need more convincing, read on...

CU Fencing is a motivated organization that has all types of fencers. We have both recreational fencers who come for fun and competitive fencers who enjoy attending tournaments in the area. We encourage our members to participate in tournaments when they feel they're ready in order to see how much fun they are! The club coordinates all the transportation and provides all the gear! Moreover, we host a handful of tournaments right here at CU each year, as we are one of the largest venues in the division, with space to operate up to twelve strips if needed.

Club members attending their first tournament should read this document produced by Sam Signorelli of HOM Fencing. It outlines the equipment you'll need to check out, and how the events are operated. (It has a few small mistakes, but will largely set you straight.)

During the fall and spring semesters, we practice Tuesdays and Thursdays, at 7:00 PM, until we're all too tired to move. Then on Sundays, we start practices at 6:00 PM.
When our practice space is available earlier, practice begins earlier. Watch the calendar!

Not only is the club a great place to improve your fencing skills, you can get instruction in being an armorer, work towards becoming a class instructor, or become an officer and help chart the future of the club. There's a wealth of opportunities to take charge and help the heart and soul of the club flourish.
