Buffs Step Up in Season Opener Game

Frisco, TX- March 2, 2007- The #2 ranked University of Colorado men’s lacrosse team opened regular season play on a high note defeating the Missouri Tigers (1-1) by a score of 16-5.

Colorado started off fast taking a solid 9-2 halftime lead behind two goals by sophomore Tyler Baruch. On the other end of the field the Buff defense remained strong in front of goalie Kevin Moriarty.

The second half saw a slew of goals by freshman Chris Fuschetti (2,0), Jack Kruzewski (3,0) and Jonathan Atwood (3,3) which solidified the victory.

“We came out fast and played with discipline which was important.” Said head coach John Galvin. “We hope to carry the momentum all weekend.”

Colorado will be taking on Texas A&M today at 1:00pm and Texas on March 4 at 9:30am as they continue their stay in Texas.
