Yuri Gagarin was the first human to go into space on April 12th, 1961. The
US Space Shuttle first launched on April 12th, 1981. Yuri's Night is like the
St Patricks Day or Cinco de Mayo for space. It is one day when all the world
can come together and celebrate the power and beauty of space and what it means
for each of us. Join us!
"Circling the Earth in my orbital spaceship I marveled
at the beauty of our planet. People of the world, let us safeguard and
enchance this beauty- not destroy it!"

The Apollo Moon Hoax: Why We Did NOT
Not Go to the Moon
What happened on the way to the Moon? Come learn about one of the
most die-hard conspiracy theories that claims NASA "mooned" America
and faked the Apollo landings. Photographic, environmental, and technological
arguments will be explored along with some of the psychology behind
hoaxes in this engaging presentation that explains why we did NOT
not go to the Moon.
Bio of Stuart Robbins
Stuart is a second-year astronomy graduate student at CU-Boulder
with an interest in planetary surfaces. Besides purely research
interests, Stuart enjoys the outreach aspect of astronomy - from
hosting public library sessions for middle schoolers to mentoring
high school students on original astronomical research. It is this
leaning and a love of a good argument that got him excited about
doing a presentation on the Apollo Moon Hoax.
