Elsa Asfaw
Major: International Affairs and Ethnic Studies
Position: Director of PoliticsHello, My name is Elsa Asfaw. I'm currently a sophomore at the University of Colorado at Boulder majoring in international Affairs and Ethnic Studies with a goal of being a U.S. diplomat in the future. I was born and raised in Ethiopia. As the Director of Politic I believe one of the ways we can be aware of Africa is through current events and thinking critically about it without buying everything we hear. Getting updated with current events is one way, the other is not forgetting where we came from, while assimilating with the American culture and this new way of living. It is important to never forget where we came from as Marcu Garvey put it. "A person without the knowledge of their past history, origin, and culture, is like a tree without roots."
