Recycle Mania 2005 is a friendly competition between top recycling programs in the United States . Fifty colleges and universities will compete to see who can collect the largest amount of recyclables from their campuses from January 30th through April 9th. Measurements will be reported on a weekly basis as the percentage of all recyclables diverted from the landfill. The university that recycles the most wins a trophy along with national media recognition and "bragging rights" among the growing number of schools with successful recycling programs.
The University of Colorado has a strong reputation for having one of the top recycling programs in the nation. In 1995, the National Recycling Coalition honored the University with its first Outstanding University Recycling Program award. In the past few years, colleges and universities across the country have created strong recycling programs. We need to see students, faculty and staff step it up their recycling during RecycleMania.
