WRC Permanent and Student Staff

The Women's Resource Center is comprised of a core staff of volunteers, a variety of student staff, a Director, Program Assistant, Associate Director, and an Advisory Board.  Read further to find out about each position and our current members.

 Director:
Barbara Kulton

As the Director of the WRC, Barbara directs and administers the center; supervises permanent and student staff; advocates for gender equity and social justice at CU Boulder and serves as a consultant to campus departments; fiscally manages the WRC by the development of annual budgets. Along with student staff, she develops diverse programs pertaining to women's issues. Barbara networks with student, staff, and faculty organizations and campus offices to form and sustain solid positive relations and partnerships throughout the campus and Boulder communities.   She co-chairs the CU Dialogue Network and the Sexual Assault/Sexual Harassment task force (SASH)  and serves as a committee member on the Student Affairs Diversity Committee, the Chancellor’s Committee on Women (CCW), and the Student Leadership Consortium.  When not on campus, Barbara might be found experiencing the joys and challenges of being the parent of two college students of her own- Sarah and Sam; bicycling on the prairies and in the mountains; hiking and skiing with friends and her Chocolate Lab, Stella; performing with her marimba ensemble, "The Low Flying Knobs"; or just sitting quietly in her garden.

 Associate Director:
Amanda Griffin-Linsenmeyer

As the Associate Director of the WRC, Amanda supervises student and volunteer staff; advocates for gender equity and social justice at CU Boulder and provides resources to campus departments; serves as a committee member on several campus wide initiatives; and organizes the WRC¹s Herstory. In collaboration with student staff, she develops diverse programs pertaining to women's issues.  When not at the WRC, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family and crafting.

 Office Manager: Hannah Wilks

As the Office Manager Hannah works closely with the Director and Associate Director to coordinate support for budgeting, marketing, volunteer support, logistics, as well as student development. Hannah is a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Political Science and Women’s Studies.  Hannah has worked for several national non-profits and is excited to be a part of the CU community and the WRC.  In her free time Hannah likes to take road trips to see friends and travel anywhere there is a beach!

Co-Marketing Coordinator:
Becky Jewell


As a Co-Marketing Coordinator, Becky designs posters, ads, and media for the WRC. She works hard with the other members of the WRC to develop communities and bring events, activ-ities, and happenings to the public eye. Becky is a Master's student in English literature, and a doctorate in art and technology is her final goal. When she's not writing or teaching, Becky enjoys drawing, painting and running.

Co-Marketing Coordinator:
Michelle Barry

Michelle is a junior, double-majoring in Studio Art and English. As a Marketing Coordinator, she is responsible for many of the written advertisements and messages sent out by the Women's Resource Center, as well as much of the content on the website. She loves drawing, creative writing, languages, walking, and food!

Co-Outreach Coordinator:

Avilene Rodriguez

Avilene is a junior, Spanish and Primary Education major. As an Outreach Coordinator she networks with other groups on campus and meets great new people along the way. She is also the vice president for the Arts and Science Student Government and a member of Student Workers Alliance Program. On her free time she enjoys playing Tennis and participating in community service events with her sorority sisters.

Co-Outreach Coordinator:
Shewaga Gebre-Michael

Shewaga is a Junior double majoring in Political Science and International Affairs. She serves as the Co-outreach Coordinator; as such, she interacts with several student groups on campus to build a strong professional relationships, advertise for events, meet some fantastic people and be "the eyes and ears" of the Women's Resource Center. In her spare time, she likes to watch movies, read and experiment with food!

Volunteer Coordinator:
Natalie Ziemba

As the Volunteer Coordinator, Natalie networks in the CU Boulder campus and community, meeting many new people and finding the wonderful volunteers of the W. She works closely with the volunteers to help with events, outreach, and making sure things run smoothly at the WRC. In addition to her work at the WRC, Natalie is also part of the INVST Community Leadership Program. Natalie is a senior studying Women and Gender Studies, and in her free time, she enjoys good books, adventures, baking, and social justice.

Co-Program Coordinator:
Julie Combest

Julie is the Co-Program Coordinator and works with others at the WRC to plan and facilitate fabulous events!  Julie is a Women and Gender Studies Major, and also in the LGBT certificate program.  She is passionate about social justice, eradicating gender (or multiplying it exponentially), and participating in peaceful, yet radical revolution.  When not at the WRC, Julie volunteers at the LGBT Resource Center, protests injustice, attends poetry slams, and bakes vegan pumpkin pie.

Co-Program Coordinator:
Evy Valencia

Evy is a Junior at CU this year and is a double major in Ethnic Studies and Sociology with a minor in Women's Studies. As the new Co-Programming Coordinator, Evy will help plan and put together amazing events by the WRC. Evy likes spending time with her puppy Drake and going out and having fun with her sisters. She is a big fan of slam poetry and trying new cuisine!

Graduate Student Coordinator:
Tamara Williams

Tamara Williams is in her second year of graduate studies in Sociology, where she is pursuing the Ph.D. Her focus is Gender and Qualitative Methods. As Graduate Outreach Coordinator, she splits her time between facilitating the Multidisciplinary/ Multicultural Graduate Student Alliance (MGSA), and working on projects that will enhance the graduate student experience for women and making the WRC a resource for the entire campus. A significant portion of her work includes sexuality-focused writing and performance, and she also organizes a chapter of the Campus Coalition for Sexual Literacy at Boulder.
