Supporting CU Boulder Student Veterans
Our veteran students are sorely in need of financial assistance. The GI Bill has not kept pace with the increases in tuitions, fees; books and the cost of living in the Boulder area. A recent survey of the veterans indicated that 70% must take out student loans and over 50% have jobs.
If you have the means we would ask that you or your organization please donate to one of our Veterans Funds. The Veterans Scholarship fund provides financial assistance to deserving individuals
The Veterans Programs Fund is used to support such actives as seminars, lectures, and workshops that assist the veteran in their transition from military life to college and then on to the workplace. It also includes subsidizing writing workshops for veterans on and off campus. In the future, we hope to officer a txt book stipend for every veteran on campus. A recent congressional study showed that an average student at a public, four year school pays $900.00 a year for books. A donation to Veterans Program fund benefits all student veterans on campus.
The Scholarship Fund and the Programs Fund are directed by the Office of Veterans Affairs. A donation to either Fund is tax deductable through the CU Foundation.
