Guidelines
for Spirit Fridays photo contest:
WHO
/ WHAT / WHERE
- Pictures
must be taken in a recognizable location on the UCB campus or of an outside
event specific to UCB
participation. (background of others in picture is okay)
- Pictures
must contain at least one person.
- Only
UCB classified staff/professional exempt are eligible for contest entry submitted
to Scouncil@colorado.edu .
Verification may be done.
- (No
one is left out, students and faculty, are having their own competition
with similar guidelines and a trophy.)
CONTEST
ENTRY AND DEADLINES
- You can find the entry form on the
staff council web site at www.colorado.edu/staffcouncil Tab on ‘special events’ then ‘photo
contest guidelines and entry form.’
- Entry form must be completed in
full to be entered in contest and will not be returned to you if
incomplete.
- Submission
deadline is noon on the first
Wednesday of the month.
- The initial Spirit Friday photo
submission will open on February 25th, with the first entry
deadline on March 4th, and the first winner chosen March 6th.
- You can
send entries throughout the month and please
do!
- Entry Form - - In 50 words or less, explain the
"Spirit" of the picture and submit along with complete location
and contact information to Scouncil@colorado.edu.
- Picture and entry form must be
submitted together. (Please send small resolution pictures if
possible)
JUDGING
AND NOTIFICATION
- Pictures
will be judged on originality, creativity and written spirit of 50 words
or less.
- There
will be at least two judges. The judges may be representatives of staff
council or administrator and someone from Human Resources.
- The winner
will be chosen on Thursday, the day after the Wednesday deadline. Winner
will be notified and their picture will be posted on the staff council web
site on the first Friday of each month.
- Winner
will be notified with congratulations and information on receiving
the beautiful 39” gold, black and silver, Spirit Fridays
traveling trophy.
- Judges will
use their discretion for acceptable picture content.
- The supervisor(s) of the contest winners will be
notified of these employees with truly outstanding spirit.
RECEIVING
THE TROPHY
- As new monthly
winners are chosen, a staff council representative from the winner’s area
will go to previous area, pick up trophy and deliver to the new winner’s
location where it will be displayed until the first Friday of the next
month.
PERKS
AND EXTRAS
- You can
submit as many pictures as you wish.
- Winning
is not restricted to once per semester.
- Everyone in a winning picture is
considered a winner and will receive a ‘CU Pride’ pin.
- All
pictures submitted for the month, will be posted on the staff council web
site under ‘Spirit Scrapbook’.
- Each ending semester, there will be a ‘grand winner’ who
will receive a special prize and whose picture will be displayed on the
Jumbo-tron at sporting events.
- The UMC
Connection has generously offered, for an ongoing recognition to the
monthly winners, a free game of bowling with shoes for a single person
photo (and one guest), or a free game of bowling and shoes for each person
of a group photo chosen (not to include guests). In addition, for the
first time, first semester grand prize winner, The Connection will provide
a two hour office party for 20 which includes bowling and pool with soda
