Achievements

• Annual service awards and retirement reception and tri-annual distribution of longevity award certificates
• Maintain Staff Council web site to help disseminate information to staff and post announcements on CUConnect and send buff bulletins
• Implemented Staff Council Outreach Committee – includes volunteering for annual events such as Toys for Tots, Chocolate Lover’s Fling and collections for Safehouse and homeless shelter
• Implemented the Employee Assistance Program now called FSAP
• Instrumental in establishment of the Ombuds Office
• Instrumental in getting mandatory supervisor training
• Instrumental in returning the flag to Old Main tower
• Nationwide resource for other higher education institutions seeking information on establishing a staff council
• Received CACMA Award 2001
• SC Chair represents staff on podium at commencement and sits on the Chancellors Executive Committee
• Sponsor campus-wide forums with Legislators, Regents and other groups
• Sponsor of annual staff breakfast and luncheon with diverse themes
• Sponsor of four campus blood drives annually since 1973 (over 27,000 pints collected)
• Sponsored national “Make A Difference Day” 2001-2003
• Sponsored campus-wide summer softball league from early 80 through 2006
• Started the Employee of the Month award.  Later it became the Chancellor’s Employee of the Year Awards.
• Supported the Women's First Congress.
• Staff Council members serve on search committees and other University Committees.
• Staff Council has a legislative affairs committee that monitors all proposed bills each year in particular those that affect staff.
• 1990-91 - worked on and helped to formulate the University Leave Bank.
