  1. What should the “open space of democracy” look like according to Williams? Is it possible? Why or why not?

  2. Have you ever thought of what you would be willing to die for? Give it some thought.

Daniel Kemmis, “The Art of the Possible” from Community and the Politics of Place

  1. Kemmis points to some interesting connections between citizenship and collaboration. Why would collaboration be a better way to solve community problems? What/where does it get us that adversarial approaches do not?

  2. Why does place and people's connections to it matter?

  3. What places matter to you? In which places do you feel you have a stake?
