Explorations of the Earth's Climate

How and why does the sun’s energy output vary? How does the sun’s variable energy output affect our atmosphere?

The Sun provides a natural influence on the Earth's atmosphere and climate. Focusing on this influence, students will use models to examine the role light energy has on Earth's atmospheric systems. This engaging inquiry-based program is an in-depth study of climate. Great follow-up to Weather Works!

In partnership with:
• SORCE: Solar Radiation and Climate Experiment
• Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics
• National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)
• Orbital Sciences Corporation
• University of Colorado

This program supports the Colorado Model Content Standards for Science: 2, 4, 5.
