Science Adventures 1

Come travel with us around Boulder County and into the city of Golden. Each day we will journey to a different exciting destination focusing our learning on a variety of scientific topics. We will begin our journey studying climatic phenomena at Fiske Planetarium and the National Center for Atmospheric Research. We will continue our journey into the study of climate at the Ice Core Laboratory where we will layer up in our winter clothing to brave the frozen lab! From there, we will begin or discussions on conservation ecology beginning with a tour of Celestial Seasonings followed by a visit to Lookout Mountain Nature Center. We will conclude the week with a visit to a local treasure, Haystack Mountain Goat Dairy to learn the science of cheese making.

This is a field class. Students will be transported in University vans with a trained driver. Students should come prepared with sturdy walking shoes, hat, sunscreen, daypack, waterproof windbreaker, water bottle, a non-peanut snack, and bag lunch each day.
