Art & Science: Rainforests

Almost 50% of all plant and animal species on Earth live in the tropical rainforest, even though they cover only 2% of its surface! The abundance of birds, mammals, insects and plants make for a wonderful palate in which we can artistically and scientifically explore this unique environment. Using watercolors, pencils, chalk and more, we will create beautiful art. From the colorful Toucan, to the two-toed sloth whose fur is coated with green algae, to the secretive and sleek jaguar, we will draw and paint our way through the beautiful world of tropical rainforests. By the end of the week, you will be able to take home your personal portfolio of rainforest art. Please bring a non-peanut snack and a water bottle.
