Heart Anatomy & Dissection Join in this one-of-a-kind, not for the squeamish class and become an expert in the functioning of the heart. We'll journey into all aspects of this amazing organ tracing its pulses, beats, and blood flow. We might even get to observe an actual surgery procedure when we visit the Cardiac Unit at Boulder Community Hospital where we'll hear from experts about current life saving procedures and technology. On another day, we'll then put on surgical gloves and dissect a pig or cow heart to gain hands-on knowledge of the heart's parts and functions. Please note: Students must have completed fourth grade. On Thursday, students need to be dropped off and picked up from Boulder Community Hospital. Parents are invited to join in on this wonderful field trip day. CLASS CODE: HAD/1 |
