Exploring the Wild – A Field Class

Come explore the stream life along South Boulder Creek Trail! Examine the macro and micro-invertebrates that inhabit this important riparian ecosystem. Using nets, magnifying lenses, and field guides, you'll learn how to identify many of the animals and plants that live there. Look for animal signs. Learn "leave no trace" practices. Listen to the many sounds of Nature as you explore the wild and have fun outside! Each week is different. Please note: This is a field class. Students need sturdy walking shoes, wading shoes, hats, daypacks, waterproof windbreaker, filled water bottle, and a non-peanut snack each day, as well as sunscreen and repellent pre-applied.

NOTE: All Exploring the Wild classes meet at South Boulder Creek Trailhead next to East Boulder Recreation Center.
