New! Animal Behavior Did you know that scientists have recorded at least 20 different “words” used by prairie dogs, that some ants can recognize their nestmate just by smell, or that some fish actually raise their eggs in their mouth? These are just a few interesting animal behavior facts that we will explore. This class combines hands on experiments with outdoor activities to introduce you to the fascinating world of animal behavior. By the end of this class, you will be able to answer questions such as: Can you teach an old fish new tricks? How do you know if a fish is territorial? Why do some fish swim in schools? What makes an animal social? How do animals communicate? In the end, you will appreciate and understand why some animals do what they do. CLASS CODE: AB/6 |
