Aerodynamics of Flight

Take this class and be a TEST PILOT for a day! This class is in collaboration with Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum. You will build your own model rocket and blast it off high into the sky. Learn how rockets actually work and the basics of safe and fun model rocketry. We will design and build our own rockets from scratch to test them for aerodynamics qualities. We will learn about the use of staging and multiple engine clusters to enhance rocket performance. We will examine the flight parameters of various engines and how they affect rocket performance. Our week will culminate with an actual test flight in a Piper Cubs or Cessna 182 and maybe even a helicopter!
