Advanced Astronomy

Recent discoveries in astronomy fascinate even non-astronomers. With the discovery of such exotic objects as quasars, pulsars, neutron and x-ray stars and the likelihood of black holes, it is no small wonder that widespread interest in astronomy is increasing. In this class, you'll gain an understanding and appreciation for the recent discoveries and activities that have created the new era in astronomy. We'll delve into the exciting information on planets, black holes and their space-time environment. We’ll also learn how astronomy interfaces with other areas of science to provide a comprehensive commentary on current views in this ever-changing field.

Note: 9-10 year olds may take this class if they have taken a regular Astronomy class in the past.
