Sign me up!

mountain biking

The Colorado Plateau comprises beautiful red rock walls, vast landscapes and myriad learning opportunities! It is as big, as wild and as exciting a place as you can find. Through this week students will live in a land of geologic wonder while riding on a mountain bike, exploring on foot, or rafting on the Colorado River. We"ll be introduced to basic bike mechanics and riding skills that will insure a safe adventure for all. Then we"ll spend a full day on the Gemini Bridges mountain bike trail with skilled instructors. Bikes and helmets are provided! In Arches National Park we"ll explore the shapes and sizes of the arches, the hidden treasures along the trails, and the archaeology of the region. Working with the Canyonlands Field Institute, we"ll experience an incredible day of geology, cultural history and hydrology as we raft through magnificent red-rock canyon walls cut by the Colorado River. It"s all here: geology, world-famous arches, archaeology, water, sun, and incredible fun!
