Girls' Natural Science Adventure

Sign me up!

girls climb

Our skilled female instructors are excited to meet you on this redesigned trip which includes climbing, a mini-backpack, and a 3 day canoe trip on the Gunnison River! We begin near Buena Vista with an afternoon of rock climbing and rappelling. Turtle Rock hovers over Wall Street where we are tucked in the cool shade with an incredible view of the Collegiate Peaks. Energized by the experience, we then travel into the Powderhorn Wilderness Area where we'll enjoy lovely scenery and wildflowers. Trail classes will cover a variety of outdoor skills. The plateaus and mountain meadows will teach us about flora, fauna, and weather. We'll bake backcountry pizza and share camaraderie in the wilderness as the girls experience new levels of confidence. The trip ends with a 3 day/2 night class 1 and 2 canoe trip on the Gunnison River starting near Escalante Canyon. Centennial Canoeing, licensed outfitters and guides, will provide gear, instruction and classes in hydrology, watersheds, and riparian ecosystems. There is nothing quite like the journey you are about to embark upon…all female, all cool, all here!
