"We are the student initiated and student run retention and outreach center that provides a personal, holistic approach to the empowerment of our peers with resources on campus in a collaborative effort. Through outreach and education, we seek to develop a broad, inclusive community inspiring gratitude and understanding of both differences and similarities, and fostering a safe and positive environment for students."
In keeping with the Division of Student Affairs' strategic plan of supporting the University's Flagship 2030 vision of a "new flagship university" of the 21st century that defines a new and global standard for education, research, scholarship, and creative work, SORCE dedicates itself to the principles expressed in that plan. SORCE willingly accepts the challenge of providing innovative student development programming to a segment of the student populace that differs significantly from the traditional university student, the underrepresented student, and takes pride in serving in this leadership role.
Upholding the University's vision of an inclusive and equitable society, SORCE is committed to creating and sustaining a diverse student body through innovative student development programming.
**Underrepresented students, specifically according to representation here at CU, are defined as: low-income students, students of color, first-generational students, students with disabilities, LGBTQI students, student parents, and non-traditional students.
