About the McNair Program
Targeted disciplines for the McNair program here at CU are the arts, humanities,
and social sciences. In our program you will engage in research with a faculty
mentor as your guide, you will share your knowledge with others in various arenas,
and you will travel to conferences to present your work.
Benefits:

$2800 stipend to complete a 9-month research project
(Only students who have completed their sophomore year are eligible for this amount.)
- Close relationship with a tenured faculty mentor
- Present research findings at local McNair conference/colloquium
- Access to McNair computer lab, free research-related copies
- Free computer classes, constructed especially for McNair scholars
- An opportunity to do original research as an undergraduate -- an impressive
feat!
- GRE preparation in senior year, help applying to graduate schools.
Eligibility:
-
1st generation/low-income or a member of a group that is underrepresented in
graduate education*
- CU-Boulder undergraduates successfully matriculating through a degree granting
program
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or legal resident
- 2.8 minimum GPA preferred
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours
- Student should seek advanced degree in areas such as ethnic studies, communication,
arts, humanities, and social sciences.
