McNair Program Application Instructions

PHASE THREE: Full admission

To gain full admission to the McNair program and become eligible to receive stipends and other monetary benefits you need to:

1.    Submit two letters of recommendation from university personnel, including professors or instructors, advisors, and administrators familiar with your academic and work experience on campus.

These letters must be received by the program within 3 weeks of the interview.

2.    Attend a workshop on writing application essays. At the workshop you will be draft a personal statement for the program. If you are curious about what we will ask for you can review the Guidelines for Writing a Personal Statement on the web.

The McNair Personal Statement must be submitted within 2 weeks of the interview at your first scheduled meeting with the Academic Advisor.
