Fall Meeting and Luncheon

Wednesday, October 28, 2009, 10:00 a.m.

Room 235, UMC, Boulder Campus

 

This room is easily accessed from the main entrance facing Euclid Avenue. Parking permits will be available at a desk outside the room.

 

 

 

Business Meeting:  This session begins at 10:00.  The full agenda and related reports will be sent in our October mailing. The business meeting ends at 11:30, followed by a social with punch served in the lobby.

 

Luncheon:  The buffet begins at 12:15 in the same meeting room.  Special dietary requirements can be indicated on the reservation form.  The luncheon cost is $15 a person; of course, spouses/partners/friends are welcome.  Both the luncheon reservation/membership renewal form and the request for parking permits are included with this mailing.  Please, return your reservation and payment by Tuesday, October 20, addressed to the CU Retired Faculty Association, UCB 80, Boulder, CO 80309-0080.

 

Program:  The film “Hillmon’s Bones,” based on the work of Marianne “Mimi” Wesson of the College of Law, Dennis Van Gerven of the Department of Anthropology, and film maker Ernesto R Acevedo-Munoz will be shown with Prof. Wesson, and perhaps the other two, introducing this product of academic detective work and afterward answering questions.

 

Tea Time Note:  Included with this mailing is an announcement about the Wednesday, September 23, Tea Time at The Academy, 970 Aurora Street on University Hill in Boulder.  Tom Duncan will speak on “Advertisements that Made us Laugh, Cry and Buy:  an historical look at early advertising that influenced, and was influenced by, the industrial revolution and changes in social mores.”
