The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Dean of the Graduate School works in tandem with

research institutes, graduate departments, as well as local and regional agencies to expand research and graduate education collaborative opportunities. Working with faculty, students, and staff, this unit administers graduate student fellowships, supports interdisciplinary graduate education through new programs and certificates, and works with the alumni and the community to both expand resources and to match research and graduate education offerings with the needs of the 21st century workforce.
We are working together to bring new nowledge to the mind - and new minds to knowledge.

UGGS Wins Two National Awards
The Graduate School would like to congratulate the United Government of Graduate Students (UGGS) for a very successful fall semester, both here on campus and at the national level.UGGS sponsored several events for graduate students, including a campus-wide graduate student orientation, fall picnic, several coffee and happy hours, and co-sponsored an open forum with UCSU for the 5 candidates for the CU Regent-at-Large position. Categorizing jazz is not a simple process. From big band swing and small group bebop to Dixieland styles, avant-garde, and fusion, jazz is sometimes predictable and often not so predictable. Neuroscience: Exploring the Role of Dopamine in the Learning System
The human brain is one of the most complex systems in the natural world. The intricate mass of nerves conducts and controls all of the body's activities, is the center of thought and emotion, and interprets information from each of our senses. One of the most challenging and yet unanswered questions in science is -- how does the brain think? One of many scientists trying to answer this complicated question is Randall O'Reilly, an associate professor of psychology at CU-Boulder who heads the Computational Cognitive Neuroscience lab on campus.
