Pricing

Campus Photography has recently adjusted its pricing structure to address current market conditions and costs. All prices listed below are effective July 1, 2007.

The photography department of the University of Colorado at Boulder is an auxiliary department that charges its clients for both producing photographs and usage of photographs in publications and on the web. The revenue gained from these charges is used to fund the photography office's operation and is vitally important to our being able to deliver service to all departments in the university. In general, if you wish to use a photograph or hire us to produce a photograph, there will be a charge or charges involved.

Below is an abbreviated list of charges that will cover most of your requests:

Shooting fees:

• $60.00 per hour from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays (1.5 hour minimum)
• $90.00 per hour at all other times (2 hours minimum weeknights and weekends 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., 3 hour minimum weekend nights 5:00 p.m.-8:00 a.m.)
• $10.00 per disc download fee for photos that are produced digitally (approximately 45 images)
• $ 5.00 per image to e-mail photos
• $10.00 per CD (each CD will hold approximately 700 MB of images maximum
• $18.00 per roll film (if we photograph on film)
• $ 1.00 each for 4x6 color or black and white prints
• $60.00 per hour for file searches of images (first .5 hour is free)
• $60.00 per hour for computer manipulation

Usage fees:
We charge for the use of all our stock images that are used in both print and web publications unless the department originally contracted with us to produce the images. Following are the charges associated with Stock photos

• $ 5.00 per image to pull and/or e-mail
• $20.00 per image for 1 time publication either in print or on the web (for University of Colorado publication)
• $100.00 per image for 1 time use for non-university related publication

What is free?
Currently we shoot for and provide images to legitimate, traditional media outlets, locally, nationally and internationally at no charge to the media. These requests are handled through the News Services department of University Communications. If you think you have a news worthy event and would like to see if it qualifies, please contact Jeannine Malmsbury at 303-492-3115 or Peter Caughey at 303-492-4007.

We also make head and shoulders portraits of faculty and staff for public relations or media use with no charge to take the photo. We will provide a 4x6, 300 dpi image to the faculty or staff person to use as they see fit. There is no usage fee for publishing these portraits on the web, in publications or newsletters. Prints are available at the prices quoted above.
