Application Process

Step One: Obtain an application. You may print out a copy of the written application form, or obtain a written application form from Lynn Wolfe's office, our Undergraduate Research Advisor (tele: 303-735-6617, MCD Biology A1B29, URA@colorado.edu)

Step Two: Find a faculty mentor. BURST funds will not be granted to students without a faculty mentor. The Biological Sciences Initiative maintains a list of faculty members who have participated in this program. Lists of other biology faculty and their research interests can be accessed by viewing the Home Pages for the Departments of (MCDB, EBIO/EEB, Department of Integrative Physiology, Center for Neuroscience, Chemistry and Biochemistry. You may also wish to read our tips for finding a faculty mentor.

Step Three: Complete an application with the assistance of your faculty mentor. Students should complete the "Student Information" section as well as questions 7-10. The faculty mentor should complete the other sections. Be sure that both the student and faculty mentor sign the final page. Return the application to Lynn Wolfe's office - there is a box on her door if she is not available.
