Outreach Awards
The
Outreach Awards Program is offered to teachers at the elementary
and secondary levels to help teachers incorporate
inquiry-based, investigative activities into their
science curriculum, allowing more hands-on science experiments
with your students.
Only K-12 Colorado teachers are eligible to apply. Priority for grant distribution will be given to teachers who participate in a BSI teacher workshop between January 2012 through October 2012, and/or to teachers in high need schools.
Awards are given out once a year and schools may only receive one award per year. A single applicant from one school may apply for up to $500, while multiple applicants from one school may apply for up to $1,000.
Award application deadline:
November 9, 2012
Download a 2012-13 application here.
Awards must be used to purchase equipment for student/classroom use. Examples
of funded equipment include, but are not limited to: balances, anatomical models, microscopes, density kits, biotech, forensics, and probeware. Generally we do not fund consumables (chemicals, dissection animals or parts), fieldtrips, school textbooks, and AV/computer items.
Awards are based on the quality of the project and application.
We will require
you to fill out an evaluation after you use the
equipment/materials in your classroom.
