Daniel Henkel Service Award Winner

The Office of International Education is pleased to announce that Steven Bethard was presented the prestigious Daniel Henkel Service Award at the International Coffee Hour on December 12, 2008. This award is not presented every year, but only when a candidate rises to an extraordinary level of merit. Steve reached this level as demonstrated by his excellent service and leadership to the Boulder Campus international community. For several years Steve was an active member of the Cosmopolitan Club and International Peer Mentor Program and became the leader of CU International , which the two groups merged into. He took on the organization of many activities, maintained the website, and organized some 20 volunteers during Welcome Week activities for CU international students. Steve motivated people and kept them on task, while leading with a light touch and keen sense of humor. We miss Steve and wish him all the best as he begins a postdoctoral position at Stanford this winter.
