About OCSS

Off-Campus Student Services (OCSS) maintains listings of rooms, houses, apartments, and roommate requests; sells Boulder maps; and provides free copies of the Boulder Tenants' Guide (an easy-to-understand summary of tenants' rights and responsibilities), the Boulder Model Lease, subleasing agreements, furniture rental information, moving tips, renter's insurance, and other materials related to living off campus.

Our services are provided via the Web or on a walk-in basis. Use Ralphie's List or come to our office in UMC 313 to search for rentals or roommates and talk with student assistants about the Boulder housing market.

Office Mission

The mission of Off-Campus Student Services is to educate students inlife skills related to living off campus. These skills include:

  • Making informed choices about housing and roommates
  • Becoming knowledgeable and responsible tenants and community members
  • Gaining proficiency in problem solving when landlored and roommate difficulties arise

Additionally, the office provides an off-campus student perspective in landlord meetings and discussions and as well as city policy meetings.

Off-Campus Student Services offers a broad range of programs, opportunities, and resources to students seeking housing off-campus, educates students in understanding their rights and responsibilities as tenants, and assists students in resolving landlord/tenant problems and/or roommate conflicts. OCSS is an advocate and housing resource for students, faculty, and staff of all races, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, and religious and political belief, gender, age, class, familial status, or mental or physical disability. OCSS is fully committed to equal and fair access to housing for all students and to assist wherever possible to build bridges of respect, tolerance, and understanding in our off campus community and between our students.

Basic Services

Our primary function is to run and maintain a database of rental listings in the greater Boulder area. This includes listings in Superior, Longmont, Louisville, and surrounding areas.

  • Assist students locating housing off campus.
  • Educate students regarding city ordinances and quality of life violations in the Boulder area. Assistance with understanding your rights and responsibilities as a tenant.
  • Landlord/Tenant mediation and intervention. Onsite Lawyer to review leases, answer any Landlord/Tenant questions
  • University/City Liaison to improve relations between students and the city. Provides information on City Ordinances.
