Naval ROTC Marine Option
In the NROTC Marine Corps Option, you will receive significant financial assistance for your education at one of over 150 top universities and colleges throughout the United States.The scholarship includes money for almost all areas of school expenses including tuition, books, fees and uniforms, along with extra costs associated with being a full-time student.As part of the program, you will participate in Naval Science classes and spend your first two summers learning about the Navy and the Marine Corps. Then in your third summer you'll spend six weeks attending Marine Officer Candidates School in Quantico, Virginia. After graduating college and successful completion of the program you will earn a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps.Platoon Leaders Class (PLC)
The Marine Corps Platoon Leaders Class (PLC) is an alternative for NROTC or OCS for college students who wish to become commissioned officers in the United States Marine Corps.College students can enroll in PLC when they are freshmen, sophomores, or juniors in college. Those who enroll as freshmen or sophmores attend two 6 six-week summer training programs at the Marine Corps Officer Candidate School, located at Quantico, Virginia. Students who enroll in the program as juniors attend one 10-week summer course.
Officer Candidate Course (OCC)
Officer Candidate Class (OCC) is designed specifically for college seniors and graduates with ambitions to become a Marine Corps officer. Candidates in this program attend a ten-week course at Officer Candidates School (OCS) in Quantico, Virginia. Those who graduate from OCS are offered a commission as a Marine officer, and those who accept are immediately assigned to active service and begin attending The Basic School.
