Living Neural Network on Microelectrode Array

PIs: Victor M. Bright
Student: Chris Roath

Project field/specialty: Neuron Manipulation

Project Description:

This project will attempt to study the properties and interactions of neuronal networks under various external stimuli. A microelectrode array will be used to stimulate and sense signals from individual neurons in an attempt to characterize how these networks are able to perform normal activities as well as repair themselves after having certain connections destroyed. This will eventually lead to a deeper understanding of some of the brain’s functional systems.
