Joel Weber received his B.S. in mechanical engineering with honors at the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2009. While there, he participated in a summer undergraduate research fellowship to study the thickness dependence of ferroelectric properties in thin films. His pursuit of this work over the course of the next year led to his interest in the field of MEMS.
In the fall of 2009, Joel began his Ph.D. in Dr. Bright’s research group. His current research project focuses on applications of microwave scanning probes to photovoltaic materials.
In addition to academics, Joel enjoys snowboarding, rock climbing, and nearly anything else that involves the outdoors.
