Micro/Nano Measurement Equipment

Small scale measurements equipment will provide mechanical constants for nano/micro electromechanical resonators.

Optical NEMS Table
This optical table has the capability to measure nano/micro electromechanical resonators. The table is equipped with a He/Ne laser, an electronically controlled 3-axis stage with nm resolution, a modulated diode laser, an RF Network Analyzer with a frequency range up to 3 GHz, a 1 GHz fast photodetector, and various optical components. These are all used to measure the resonant motion of nanomechanical resonators at various pressures, specifically the vibrations of graphene resonators.

Probe Station
This electrical probe station is equipped with a low noise current preamp, voltage source, and computer Data Acquisition system. We use this probe station to measure the electrical properties of graphene membranes in solution and field effect transistors from individual graphene sheets and single walled carbon nanotubes.
