*Ultrasonic Particle Image Velocimetry (Echo PIV).

The combination of ultrasound echo images with digital particle image velocimetry methods has resulted in a two-dimensional, two-component velocity field measurement technique appropriate for cardiovascular dynamics characterization.( Echo PIV movie enter)

*Ultrasound Contrast Agents

The superior scattering properties of gas bubbles compared with blood cells have made microbubble ultrasound contrast agents important tools in ultrasound diagnosis. Over the past several years they have become the focus of a wide and rapidly expanding field of research, with their benefits being repeatedly demonstrated, both in ultrasound image enhancement, and more recently in drug and gene delivery applications. Development, functionization and acoustic characterization of microbubbles are the aims of research in our lab.( Microbubble movie enter)

*Ultrasonics Transducers

*Ultrasonic Wave Propagation

*Doppler Ultrasound

*Ultrasonic Molecular Imaging

The development of site-targeted microbubble contrast agents that can be used to image molecular events in vivo. These agents have been used to non-invasively assess inflammation, angiogenesis and early tumor formation. Potential uses for targeted contrast- enhanced ultrasound extend beyond diagnostic applications. It can be used to rapidly assess new therapeutic strategies aimed at modulating the targeted molecular mediators.
