Mission

The NIH/HHMI Scholars Program for Diversity in the Biosciences promotes academic excellence and diversity. The mission of the NIH/HHMI Scholars Program is to broaden access to groups historically underserved in graduate education in any bioscience field. These groups include underrepresented minorities (African Americans, Hispanics, American Indians/Alaska Natives, and Native Pacific Islanders); low income, first generation college students; and students with disabilities.
