BEWARE OF INCOMPLETELY EDITED NOTES: All of the 1999 lecture notes will be revised versions of notes posted in 1998. The entire set of 1998 lectures has been rearranged to reflect the order of presentation in 1999, which in most cases closely parallels the sequence of topics in the textbook. However, final editing will generally not be done until near the time when the lectures are actually presented. I anticipate that all of the notes will undergo some degree of revision for 1999, including major modification in cases where parts of two lectures have been combined or parts of a single 1998 lecture have been used in two different 1999 lectures.
Final editing of the notes is done with them online so I can see how they look as I modify them.. A revision date is added to the upper left corner of the web page when the editing has been completed. The old lecture numbers are also shown, mostly to help me remember the relationship to 1998 lectures. If you make a copy of notes that do not have a revision date, you should go back and make a fresh copy after the date has been added (or at least do a comparison to see what may have been changed).
Schedule for revision: It is my intention to have revised notes for each lecture online prior to the day of the lecture so that you may make copies and bring them to class if you wamt to do so. If any notes fail to come online with revised dates by the day of the lecture, please email me at Richard.Ham@colorado.edu.
Do not use the notes as a substitute for attending lectures! These notes are designed to allow you to concentrate on the material being presented in class without having to scramble to write it all down as it goes by. They are not intended to be a substitute for attending the lectures. You will be responsible for materials presented or discussed in class that have not been included in the notes.
