BEWARE OF INCOMPLETELY EDITED NOTES: All of the 1998 lecture notes will be revised versions of notes posted in 1997. The entire set of 1997 lectures was posted at the beginning of the semesterwith no changes other than new lecture numbers in cases where the sequence has been changed. All of these notes will undergo some degree of revision for 1998, including major modification in cases where the sequence of presentation has been altered. Final editing of the notes is done with them online so I can see how they look as I modify them.. A revision date is added to the upper left corner of the web page when the editing has been completed. The old lecture number is also shown in cases where the number is different this year (this alone does not indicate that editing has been completed -- or even started). If you make a copy of notes that do not have a revision date, you should go back and make a fresh copy after the date has been added (or at least do a comparison to see what may have been changed).
Schedule for revision: It is my intention to have revised notes for each lecture online prior to the day of the lecture so that you may make copies and bring them to class if you wamt to do so. If any notes fail to come online with revised dates by the day of the lecture, please email me at Richard.Ham@colorado.edu.
Do not use notes as a substitute for attending lectures! These notes are designed to allow you to concentrate on the material being presented in class without having to scramble to write it all down as it goes by. They are not intended to be a substitute for attending the lectures. You will be responsible for materials presented or discussed in class that have not been included in the notes.
