Here is a simple cell.  There is a Na+, K+ ATPase that is working as a pump.   It moves Na+ out of the cell and K+ into the cell.   

Q1: Draw a graph of the changes in Na+ and K+ concentrations over time, assuming that at time = N, the Na+, K+ ATPase is turned off (by treating the cell with a specific inhibitor).

Q2: Under what conditions might the Na+, K+ ATPase run backward so as to generate ATP.
