Microfilm & Microfiche

Microform reader / printer

The Law Library has an extensive collection of materials in microform -- either microfilm or microfiche.

The microform collection is located on the first floor with a microform reader/printer. Printouts cost 25 cents each and must be purchased with a copy card.

Copy cards can be purchased from the copy card dispenser in the second floor copy room using a single dollar bill. You can add value to the card using the dispenser after the card has been purchased. Remember, you must first use a single dollar bill to purchase the card.

Please ask the Reference Librarian on duty for help getting set up.

Reporting reader/printer machine problems

If there is a problem with the microform reader/printer please inform the person at the Circulation or Reference desk.

Refunds

REFUNDS may be obtained Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00 at the UMC Ink Spot. Money is refunded directly to copy cards only.

COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specific conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purposes other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
