Computers & Networks
Computers for students
Office of Information Technology (OIT) computer clusters are located throughout the Law Library. These computers are available to all CU Boulder students who have an active Identikey account (http://oit.colorado.edu/accounts).
For additional information about OIT labs on campus go to the OIT web page http://oit.colorado.edu/computing-labs.
The Law Library also has sixteen ITS laptops available for use in the library. They offer full access to regular lab applications and printing. See below for Laptop/Notebook computer circulation policies.
CU Boulder affiliates with an Identikey may connect a personal laptop to the wireless network in the Law Library. Wireless network setup documentation can be found on the OIT website at http://oit.colorado.edu/wireless.
Please note that the computer clusters and the lending laptops are part of CU Boulder's Information Technology Services and are NOT operated by the Law School or the Law Library. Technical and maintenance issues should be reported to OIT through their website or by calling 5-HELP from any campus phone.
Circulation Policies for Notebook Computers
Notebook computers in the Wise Law Library are purchased from CU-Boulder student fees and are provided for CU-Boulder student use.
See Circulation Policies - Notebook Computers for loan periods, fines, charges and replacement costs.
Computers for the public
The Law Library provides free, public access computers for conducting legal research. These computers are located throughout the library and provide access to the library's online catalog and specially licensed legal databases. Please note that these computers do not have word processing applications available.
We welcome you to bring your own laptop to the library as our new facility has a large supply of convenient power outlets. Wireless access for general internet use is available. Guests cannot access CU-Boulder resources that require on-campus connections, such as Library resources that are provided strictly for CU-Boulder affiliated students, faculty and staff members. For more information about how to access the guest wireless system go to the UCB Guest Wireless page on the OIT website.
