Examines Rock-oriented popular music, concentrating on American music after 1950 and up to the present. The evolution of musical style from the Rock and Roll in the 1950s into the broader style of Rock in the 1960s and beyond, as well as consideration of societal impact, is central to the course. Approved for arts and sciences core curriculum: literature and the arts.
