Undergraduate Programs
The school offers the bachelor of science degree in journalism from one of five sequences. Prospective students apply to the University of Colorado as freshmen or transfer students and complete their freshman year of undergraduate work (a minimum of 30 semester hours) typically in the College of Arts and Sciences as prejournalism and mass communication majors. Graduate Programs
One of the school's graduate programs, the Integrated Marketing Communication, track has been discontinued as of October 7, 2002, and we are accepting no further applications to that track. Master of Arts (MA)
The school offers master of arts degrees in two programs: Newsgathering and Mass Communication Research.

Students in the Research and Newsgathering programs can earn the master's degree with an emphasis in environmental journalism and the university's certificate in Environmental Policy.

Students in the Newsgathering program select an emphasis in Print, Broadcast or a combination of both.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
The PhD in Communication is dedicated to interdisciplinary inquiry into the social, political, economic and cultural dimensions of media, nationally and internationally, historically and in contemporary societies.
