The following courses are offered as part of the Bachelor of Science
degree
in journalism with a specialization in one of five areas: Advertising,
Broadcast
News, Broadcast
Production, News-Editorial,
and Media
Studies.
An undergraduate certificate in International Media is also available.
JOUR 4201 International Mass Communication
Covers mass media in the international system, including comparative examinations
of national and international press organizations, methods, and content.
Also looks at the role of mass media in developed and developing countries
and the international flow of news and opinion. (4201

JOUR 4341 Global Media
This senior capstone class will examine the configuration of global media
systems since deregulation and privatization in the 1980s. It will focus
on the business transactions that media enable and the entertainment content
