Peng Hwa Ang
Peng Hwa Ang was a member of the Working Group on Internet Governance, which was tasked with preparing a document for governments at the next meeting of the World Summit on the Information Society in Tunis.
He is Dean of the School of Communication and Information, Nanyang Technological University, where he teaches and researches media and internet law.
He is the author of Ordering Chaos: Regulating the Internet, recently published by Thomson, which argues that the internet can be and is being regulated. The book partly written while he was on sabbatical at the Kennedy School at Harvard University as a Fulbright scholar and at Oxford University as a visiting scholar.
He has consulted for government and private bodies in Singapore, as well as international agencies such as the United Nations Development Program and the European Union on law and policy issues regarding the Internet
A lawyer by training, he worked as a journalist before going on to pursue a Master’s in communication management at the University of Southern California and a Ph.D. in the mass media at Michigan State University.
